  • LIVE CASE #1: Patient presenting with an ampullary lesion
  • LIVE CASE #2: Patient presenting with a long segment of BE

Dr. David Carr-Locke

Background: Patient presenting with an ampullary lesion

During the procedure, Dr. Carr-Locke identified an ampullary lesion. Dr. Ken Chang, the auditorium moderator, mentioned that "it seems to be a great place to use Cellvizio." Dr. Carr-Locke agreed. The following normal and abnormal images of the Ampulla were produced using Cellvizio. These images, which showed the precancerous condition of the Ampulla, provided Dr. Carr-Locke the confidence necessary to perform an Ampullectomy.

Key take-aways

In these live cases we see how the real time histologic information provided a strong clinical benefit to the patient. A valuable addition to the endoscopy suite, pCLE enables physicians to adapt the management of patients thanks to a more accurate characterization of disease in the GI tract.
